Save the date for the new Discover Carpentry Program’s Information Session

Date: Wednesday, January 15, 2025

Time: 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Location: 40 Enman Crescent, CAPEI’S Construction Training Centre (blue building located at the Royalty Centre back parking lot – road access is on the left side of the Royalty Centre)

Program Details:

Eligibility Requirements – Does this sound like you?

• Interested in exploring Carpentry as a career.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Aged 18–45.
• Unemployed or working 25 hours or less per week.
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• For newcomers: Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher.

Paid Classroom & Shop Time: Feb. 10 – April 4, 2025 (8 weeks – Approx. $400.00/week take-home pay).

Classroom/Shop Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (arrive by 7:45 am).

Paid Work Experience: Starts April 7, 2025 – Ongoing (wages paid by your employer as you begin your apprenticeship).

• Measure twice- cut once, Foundation, Framing, Drywalling, Installing Windows and Doors, Cabinetry, Flooring, Siding, Roofing, and employer expectations.-
• 240 Apprenticeship Hours for Classroom Completion For Red Seal Certification, +Learn The Career Pathway To “Earn And Learn”
• Free Work Boots, & Personal Protective Equipment
• Earn Paid Safety Certifications In CPR/First Aid/WHMIS, Fall Protection, Workplace Elevated Platforms
