Information Session When:

Wednesday, March 27, 2024. 9:00AM - 10:00 AM

Where: Charlottetown- 40 Enman Crescent, CAPEI’s Construction Training Centre (blue building located at the Royalty Centre back parking lot

Paid Classroom & Shop Time: April 22 - June 14, 2024 (8 weeks-Approximately $395/per week take home)

Classroom/Shop Hours: 8:00AM to 3:00PM (arrive at 7:45AM)

Paid Work Experience: June 17-ongoing (wages paid by your employer)

Daycare subsidy and/or travel allowance available for eligible clients

Program Details

• Practice essential carpentry skills by building tiny homes: Safe use of hand and power tools, foundation, framing, drywalling, installing windows and doors, cabinetry, flooring, siding, and roofingGain 240 apprenticeship hours
• Free work boots & personal protective equipment
• Earn paid safety certifications in CPR/First Aid, WHIMIS, Fall Protection & Workplace Elevated Platforms

Eligibility Requirements

• Interested in exploring carpentry as a career
• A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Age 18-45
• Unemployed or working 25 hours or less per week
• For newcomers, a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher
