COVID - 19 Notice March 19-2020

LATEST UPDATE REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY HERE ON PEI

Good afternoon members,

After my discussion with Mr Ryan Neale, Manager Environmental Health, I received the following email from him at 12:49pm.

I got an approval email at 5:39 pm this evening to send out to our members and industry.

"Hello Sam,
Thank you for getting in touch. The Chief Public Health Officer is asking all industries and retailers to consider if their work is essential. The document at this https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/health-and-wellness/essential-and-non-essential-services   link can help people make that decision.

In terms of the construction industry, we understand that there are currently a number of builds in progress and that leaving those structures in their current state may put them at risk of damage, etc. Therefore, if a company decides to continue to operate, we would ask them to practice good hand hygiene (eg. when sharing tools) and to practice social distancing of at least 6 feet.
However, at this time, starting new builds should be reconsidered and if possible, rescheduled to a later date.

The document you created called "Job Site Information" has all the necessary information that should be shared with your industry.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at (902)368-4970."

We are encouraging all members to have that discussion with their crews , supervisors and staff  on the importance of following proper procedures (see following) to maintain a productive worksite, without these conversations happening there can be false information given  that can have very negative impact on our jobsites and we want to maintain a positive atmosphere and worksite for all
PLEASE FOLLOW THE JOB INFORMATION POSTER BELOW FOR UP TO DATE PROCEDURES.
