The J. Francis Reid Memorial Bursary is established in honour of Francis Reid and his lasting contributions to Prince Edward Island’s construction industry and community.Awarded on behalf of the Francis Reid Family and the Construction Association of PEI, this bursary supports PEI students pursuing careers in the construction industry by helping reduce financial barriers associated with training, education, tools, PPE, and other related expenses.This bursary reflects Francis Reid’s lifelong commitment to strengthening the construction industry in Prince Edward Island and supporting the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
The annual bursary is jointly funded, with: $1000 contributed by the Construction Association of PEI $1000 contributed by the Francis Reid Family
Total annual funding: $2000 (4 x $500 bursaries)
J. Francis Reid dedicated much of his career to advancing Prince Edward Island’s construction industry through leadership, service, and long-term commitment to industry development.
Throughout his time with CAPEI, Francis Reid played a key role in supporting industry growth and helping guide the construction sector through decades of change and development in Prince Edward Island.His legacy continues through this bursary, which supports students who are beginning their own journey in the skilled trades and construction industry.
